Anyone into street art has to be down with Mike Giant; I repeat on blast: HAS TO BE DOWN WITH MIKE GIANT.
Longtime legend in the tatoo and graff scene, Giant first made his name in the San Francisco graffitti and tattoo scene with his immortal crew: Rebel 8. Depicting traditional flash art with his own twist; his heavy linework always seems to compliment the interminable nature of his subject matter.
Love, death, women, and religion are consistent themes in his work and as such, are relatable on a very 'everyman' level. Symbolism persists and is the great underlying underline to a catalog of work that spans nearly three decades.
Although Giant is an accomplished and renowned tatoo artist, with droves of people willing to pay a priceless fee, he has quit the tatoo aspect stating: "You should really get tattoo'd by the hot shots around here (San Francisco). My skills have faded, and I really don't enjoy it anymore. Sorry."
As long as you keep expressing your graphic talents, you'll never owe us an apology Mr. Giant.
