kk, So musicMonday is a good way to spread the word on artists who don't get the backing of the Major record labels. Here we go:
88 Keys- Before D.O.A. stood for Death of Autotune; it stood for Death of Adam. Keys' debut album dropped last November (almost a year ago) and its still one of my fave albums of the last 365 days. WOW!, it was like watching Where the Wild Things Are, in short BLOWN AWAY.
It's the musical story of Adam; a young man on his journey to understand sex, women, and fatherhood. Death of Adam is a cohesive telling of a man's confusion in the one area of life that is wholly out of our control. No subject is taboo: waking up with an erection, becoming a friend where romance would be preffered, and lasting as long as possible during sex (even the agony of a man giving "repeat performances." For anyone who has ever experienced awkwardness, feelings of inadequacy, confusion, as well as those magnificent feelings of love and completion.
Keys manages to capture the span of a mans attitudes towards love and sex, however crude and candid it may come off
